WHO aRE WE?

We are part of the United Nations Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UNA-UK), representing a network of 25 branches in the London and Southeast region (London, Kent and West Sussex). UNA-UK is a membership based organisation and the UK's leading independent policy authority on the United Nations.

As a Region, we support UNA-UK’s overall efforts towards campaigning and educating to promote the principles of the UN Charter and supporting the work of the UN and its agencies. Liaising with UNA-UK headquarters, we support branches in the region in playing a full part in promoting the UN in local communities; and facilitate their participation in UNA-UK’s national policy formulation.

The Region operate entirely through the efforts of volunteers, all committed to and passionate about the ideal of the United Nations. Like UNA-UK, we are independent from the UN system and receive no funding from it. Our funding comes from membership fees and various fundraising activities and events.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The London and Southeast Region is governed by an Executive Committee comprising 13 volunteer members drawn from branch members in the Region. Membership is renewed every year. Chair of the Region also serves as Vice Chair and Regional Representative on the UNA-UK Board.
